Planning your trip to the Outer Hebrides? We have a fantastic range of leaflets - all of which are free download. We know that some folk like to have a physical leaflet and we now have some of our leaflet range available to purchase.
The Outer Hebrides are a stronghold for several of Scotland’s most iconic birds of prey. Here, vast open vistas provide fantastic opportunities to watch these predators. With little disturbance, birds of prey are often encountered at close quarters on the quiet roads, tracks and paths. You can hope to see up to ten bird of prey species living along the trail.
The Bird of Prey trail links 13 viewing locations from Barra in the south to Ness at the northern tip of Lewis. Interpretation installed at viewing locations provides information on the species present and routes to follow for the best chances of sightings.
This leaflet folds out to A3 size and locations are plotted on a map with a location and description.
*You can also pick up on island, but please note that stocks are limited and can diminish throughout the season.
